IMPACT Madagascar was founded in 2013, at a time when deforestation was at its peak, to preserve the fragmented and isolated habitats of the crowned sifaka populations discovered four years earlier. Over the past decade, it has brought a glimmer of hope for the conservation of these forests – sometimes considered too remote and depleted – which nevertheless harbour unrivalled biodiversity and support communities hoping for a prosperous future. IMPACT Madagascar has made its mark in the world of conservation through its effectiveness, having reduced fires by 70% within its conservation areas.
