The Fosa Association is a community based conservation organisation formally established in 2023 by members of villages surrounding Ankarafantsika National Park in northwestern Madagascar. Emerging from a grassroots initiative deeply rooted in local realities, Fosa was created to sustainably reduce wildfires and the illegal exploitation of natural resources, with the ultimate goal of safeguarding one of Madagascar’s most valuable and threatened dry forests.
