Ben Wambugu here. An up-and-coming leader in the non-profit sector in matters financial management, financial reporting, general accounting, procurement, internal controls compliance, grants management & administration, budget development & monitoring, partner organizations capacity strengthening & financial oversight, and a keen interest in programmatic work in the efforts of harmonizing financial and programmatic pillars of work.

Passionate about leveraging finance as a tool for social impact, Ben has previously worked closely with program teams, partner organizations, and government actors to strengthen accountability and ensure the finite limited resources are used effectively and transparently.

A natural keen eye to details complemented by a curious mind always appreciating the resourcefulness of others and embracing continuous learning. 

Serving from a point of humility, care and gratitude has led Ben to Maliasili. Ben is living the African proverb ‘Charity begins at home’ as Mother Earth is our home and we as the inhabitants should prioritize planet earth’s care.

Maliasili exists to help talented local conservation organizations overcome their challenges and constraints so that they can become more effective agents of change in their landscapes, communities, and nations.
