We’re building a portfolio comprising the best African conservation organizations. Our partners are developing the solutions that African societies and communities need to make conservation work in the face of rapid change and multiplying pressures.

We find high-performing African conservation and natural resource organizations with exceptional talent, a proven track record and/or great potential. We provide those organizations with customized organizational support, helping them build strong teams, develop focused strategies, communicate and market their work, and implement effective management systems.

This case study describes the organizational growth and impact of some of Kenya’s most critical actors in its conservancy movement. Maliasili has worked with each organization differently, meeting them where they’re at and providing the support they need in order to achieve maximum impact.

This case study shares Honeyguide’s journey in working with Maliasili over the past four years. Honeyguide is now a leading Tanzanian organization driving effective community conservation on a growing scale across northern Tanzania.

The Maasai Landscape Conservation Fund is a collaborative initiative designed to accelerate the impact of community-based conservation solutions across southern Kenya and northern Tanzania’s savannah landscapes by investing in high-performing local organizations.

Scaling the work of the best local organizations and finding new ways for them to secure the resources they need to grow and sustain their impact is critical. This is why Maliasili is also increasing our efforts to build collaboration with funders to help get resources to where they are most needed on the ground.
